The owner was really friendly and the price was unbelievably cheap compared to other places. The location was fantastic, right next to public transportation and easy access to downtown. Plus, the proximity to the city center made it convenient to explore all the attractions.
The rooms were beyond unsanitary, with a strong stench of urine and even mice or rats scurrying around. Wi-Fi was a complete disaster and barely worked, which was frustrating.

The location of the hostel was perfect for me as it was very close to the train station, which made it convenient for my trip to Whistler. Despite being in a central area, the hostel was surprisingly quiet on the Tuesday night I stayed. The bed and bedding were comfortable and clean, providing a good night's sleep. I also appreciated having a sink in my room for added convenience.
Although the decor of the hostel was a bit hodgepodge and could use some improvement, it did not hinder my overall experience. The place could benefit from a deep clean and some fresh paint, but with a little bit of effort, it has the potential to be quite cool.

I stayed at Main St for two nights, catching a bus to Whistler from the nearby train station. The location was ideal, within walking distance of the Amtrak station, stores, and the waterfront. Despite its slightly worn appearance, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedding was fresh. The shared bathroom was offset by the convenience of a sink in my room. The contactless check-in process was a great help, allowing me immediate access to my room without needing to interact with staff.
I would recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Main St Hostel. The location was ideal, with easy access to the city center, bus stops, and the metro. Transportation was convenient and made exploring the area a breeze. The owner of the hostel was very friendly, and the price for my stay was unbeatable. The staff was also responsive to communication and flexible with check-in times, which made my trip hassle-free. The hostel itself had a quaint charm, adding character to my stay. The floor I was on had three separate toilets, two of which also had shower facilities. This made it easy for me to freshen up without any issues.
While my stay at Main St Hostel was mostly pleasant, there were a few drawbacks. The rooms were a bit unsanitary and could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness.

I recently stayed at Main St for a few days and had a great experience. The location was perfect for my needs, with easy access to a bus stop and sky train station. The private room I had was decent, and the noise levels were tolerable despite some traffic noise. Hector, the staff member, was friendly and always ready to help. The fully equipped kitchen was rarely crowded, and the price was reasonable. I would definitely consider staying here again.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
